95% of the homes at Lake Doster reside within the Plainwell School District. There are a handful of properties on the far east side of the lake that set in the Delton-Kellogg School District.

The Plainwell School District has a tremendous reputation throughout southwest Michigan and has shown consistent achievement versus both statewide averages and other district's in the region.

 

The district operates six schools and serves approximately 2,900 students (K-12). Plainwell spends approximately $8,800 per student. The ratio of student to full-time equivalent teacher is 19-1.

On a personal note, all three of my children have either graduated or are currently attending the Plainwell School District. Nancy and I have nothing but great things to say about level of engagement by the staff, and the programming and curricula at Plainwell. The district is known for it's music program, early swimming program, it's availability of A/P classes and it has consistently excellent woman's volleyball and woman's and men's soccer programs.
